The first 16 weeks of your puppy’s life are critical to your puppy’s social development. Allow us to help you ensure your puppy is well mannered, confident, and socially adept. Topics covered will include potty training, socialization and confidence building exercises, as well as beginning to lay the basic foundations for obedience with marker training.
Our private lessons last and hour and a half, and are based upon your needs and your availability. These lessons can be provided in your home, in our facility or out in the public. This program allows you to be directly involved in the training of your dog. Our one-on-one instruction will be specific to your family, your dog, your lifestyle needs, and your goals.
This program is geared towards those working in the pet industry such as veterinarians, groomers, and boarding facilities. We share knowledge of our training system as well as addressing behavioral problems such as aggression, submissive behaviors, barking, jumping, and poor leash manners. Enjoy lunch on us while gaining valuable information that may be helpful to you and your clients.
Our board and review program is offered for previous graduates of our programs who need refreshing or fine-tuning in certain aspects of their behavior. This program is usually only five to seven days in length. Again, this is an excellent time to take another vacation while we brush up on your dog’s previous training.
The Sit Means Sit “Go Team” Therapy dog training is a program that allows you to have a certified therapy dog. With this, you may go and visit hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living centers, homes, schools, special events, and disaster areas — anywhere a therapy dog is needed! We participate in Paws2Read and BuddyWalks too! What a wonderful way to give back to the community!
Our board and train immersion program allows your pet to stay with us under the care of our trainers. Over the course of two, or three weeks (based upon evaluation of your pet), your pet will lose their bad habits and evolve into an obedient canine companion. This program is ideal for the pet owner with a busy lifestyle or who wants to take a vacation while allowing us to begin your pet’s transformation.
Feel free enjoy your vacation knowing you are going to return to a more refined best friend. Your pet is trained as we live…we take them shopping, exercising, dining… many activities we will expose to your friend. This is great for socialization and being around distractions.
Our day train program offers you the luxury of dropping your dog off to us for the day. Drop your dog off early morning, pick your dog up late afternoon. When you come for pick up, we go over with you what your dog was taught that day, give you some homework, then you go home and reinforce with your dog those commands and behaviors until your next training session. This is great for those wanting to be involved with their dogs training, but with us laying down a good foundation for you to build on.

Manny has had a great deal of experience with all kinds of breeds and works well with their owners. Manny, a Bonita Springs native, served in Afghanistan under “Operation Enduring Freedom” as an artillery man. Upon his return, he has spent many hours working with dogs. He enjoys training clients and their dogs. His 2 yr old Shepherd, Luna, is a calm-tempered but hard-working dog who has proven that all dogs, (including those on the aggressive breed list), are trainable and loving.
Diane began her life as a cardiac nurse with her bachelor’s degree in nursing. While she enjoys aiding and comforting people, dogs have always been her passion. Diane did a phenomenal job with Juno! She changed her from a shy, fear biting dog into a much more social, confident dog. It took me a while to learn the training method, but if ever I had a question or concern, she went out of her way to give her extra training and attention to me. I would absolutely recommend reaching out to Diane and SIT MEANS SIT for dog training. She always offers additional training tips and follows up with you even after training.
We have a 7 month old German Shepherd puppy. Wow, what was I thinking getting a puppy! I contacted Alexis regarding training her. She came out to do a demonstration and it was all uphill from there! Lexi graduated training 2 months ago, yet Alexis has continued to send me texts to see how things are going and to ask me if I had any questions. Alexis is very professional and has done a terrific job with Lexi. I would recommend SIT MEANS SIT and her training services to anyone!
This training met way more than my expectations! After failed attempts with 2 other trainers in the area, I was desperate to find some type of training that would work this time. Having dinner with a friend one evening, she told me about her experience with SIT MEANS SIT and how her dog did a total transformation. I called and set up a consultation with them. Dan came out to the house, assessed Molly and we talked about goals I wanted to see out of her. Dan explained his training approach and addressed any questions or concerns I had. Within a short time I was beginning to see wonderful things with my dog. She even seemed happier too! Thanks Dan the man!
I was totally tired of my 2 year old Golden Retriever pulling me along for walks, not me walking her. I was embarrassed by her pulling at the leash, choking herself all the time. I felt like people looked at me strange. I found Sit Means Sit through my local pet store. Julia did a total turn around. She is no longer pulling at her leash and walks were just that, nothing but pulling! I look forward to our walks so much now. Such a joy to have a happy, obedient dog!
When we heard about Sit Means Sit from a neighbor, and saw how they helped their dog, we knew we had to give them a try. We recently purchased a year old Golden Doodle from a rescue. We had so much trouble just walking her, much less keeping her from jumping on people. We called and went for our evaluation with Alexis. Loved learning how to work with our dog and give her a more structured environment. Now it’s a joy taking her for a walk. I’m not embarrassed anymore. Can’t thank Alexis enough for all she has done for us and Gracie.
Never did I ever think we would be able to handle our dog, as we tried everything to get him to behave. At 8 months of age, I had just about given up… I was such a bad dog parent. We had dogs in the past, but this one was way different. There was no chance I was ever going to get my dog to listen to me, much less behave. What was I doing wrong? My husband and I finally talked and he said maybe try a dog trainer. I googled trainers and Sit Means Sit popped up. I called them and took Max into see them. Alexis said she could turn him around into a good, well-behaved dog. Well, she did just what she said she would do. He’s such a good dog now, our life is so much easier now. If you are looking for a great trainer, look no more. Alexis is the best!
